  • Good Capillary Application
  • Thermal Shock Resistance

Product Description

LOCTITE ECCOBOND F 123 is a two-part, heat-cure epoxy adhesive formulated for terminating single- and multi-channel fiber optic connectors and potting glass fibers and fiber optic bundles. The mixed material has a typical viscosity of 4,000 cP at 25°C and a four-hour pot life, supporting controlled wicking into optical assemblies. It uses a 100:10 resin-to-hardener mix ratio by weight and offers cure schedules as fast as one minute at 150°C. The cured adhesive operates from -60 to 175°C and combines mechanical-impact resistance, thermal-shock resistance, and low-stress bonding with no pistoning. Its color-keyed formulation changes from green/blue when mixed to reddish-amber after cure, providing a visible indication of cure status.

Key features

  • Fast heat cure: Cure options include five minutes at 100°C, two minutes at 120°C, or one minute at 150°C.
  • Low-viscosity wicking: Typical mixed viscosity of 4,000 cP at 25°C supports application within fiber optic assemblies.
  • Low-stress optical bonds: Resists mechanical impact and thermal shock while supporting connections without pistoning.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Single- and multi-channel fiber optic connector termination
  • Fiber optic bundle assembly
  • Potting glass fibers
