- Brush, Dip, Pour, and Spray Application
- Coating Build of 5 to 6 Mils
Product Description
DOWSIL™ 92-009 Dispersion Coating is a one-part, air-drying silicone coating formulated for environmental sealing and surface protection. Supplied as 35% silicone solids dispersed in a hydrocarbon solvent, it can be applied by brushing, dipping, pouring, or spraying and cures at room temperature to form a tough, transparent silicone rubber film. The cured coating combines high tear strength with adhesion, release, anti-abrasion, electrical-insulation, and environmental-resistance properties.
Key features
- One-part room-temperature cure: Air-dries through exposure to atmospheric moisture and cures within 72 hours at 25°C (77°F) and 50% relative humidity.
- Durable protective film: Cures to a tough, transparent silicone rubber coating with high tear strength and anti-abrasion characteristics.
- Environmental resistance: Resists weathering, ozone, chemicals, moisture, ice, and ultraviolet radiation at temperatures up to 260°C (500°F).
- Flexible application methods: May be applied by brushing, dipping, pouring, or spraying.
Applications / Suitable for
- Environmental sealing and protection of parts and substrates
- Protective coating for electrical and steel cables, structural members, and equipment components
- Corrosion and erosion protection for aircraft, launch equipment, and related aerospace components
