Product Description
BONDERITE M-CR 1200S AERO is a brown powdered chromate conversion-coating chemical used to treat aluminum and its alloys. Mixed into an aqueous bath and applied by immersion, spray, or brush, it forms a light iridescent golden-to-tan coating that reduces corrosion and improves paint adhesion. The bath operates at a pH of 1.3 to 2.1 and a temperature of 20 to 35 deg C (68 to 95 deg F), with a contact time of 15 seconds to 3 minutes. Immersion or spray baths are built up at 6.3 lb per 100 gallons, while brush-application baths use 12.5 lb per 100 gallons. The coating chemical is listed on Qualified Product List QPL-81706 as an approved material for Class 1A and Class 3 coatings, bare or painted, in accordance with MIL-DTL-5541.
