BONDERITE C-AD-ETCH
Harmonization Code : 3208.20.90 | Paints and varnishes that are dispersed or dissolved in a non aqueous medium

Main features
- Smooth Aluminum Etching for Anodizing
- Adjustable Etch-Factor Additive Concentration
- Concentrated Sodium-Hydroxide Etchant Additive
Product Description
BONDERITE® C-AD ETCH ADD3 AERO is a concentrated liquid additive and surfactant developed for use with sodium hydroxide to prepare aluminum-alloy etchant solutions. When used as directed in BONDERITE® etchant formulations, it produces smoothly etched aluminum surfaces suitable for subsequent finishing operations such as anodizing and chemical conversion coating. The concentrated formulation allows the etch factor to be adjusted for different process requirements while providing excellent line definition on selected aluminum alloys.
Key Features
- Aluminum etchant additive designed for use with sodium hydroxide-based BONDERITE® etchant formulations.
- Supports downstream finishing by producing smoothly etched aluminum surfaces suitable for anodizing and conversion coating.
- Adjustable etch characteristics through concentration changes within approved BONDERITE® etchant formulations.
- Highly concentrated liquid that can be incorporated into multiple BONDERITE® aluminum etchant formulations.
- Cold-weather crystallization is reversible by warming the product or adding it directly to the operating etch tank.
Applications / Suitable for
- Preparation of aluminum alloy etchant solutions
- Chemical etching of aluminum alloys
- Surface preparation before anodizing
- Surface preparation before chemical conversion coating
- BONDERITE® ETCHANT 9H, 11-L, and 17-L formulations
