3M TE031
Harmonization Code : 3907.30.00.40 | Epoxy Mold Compounds containing by weight more than 70 % silicon dioxide

Main features
- 30-Second Handling Strength
- Two-Minute Assembly Window
- Flexible Plastic Bonding
Product Description
3M Scotch-Weld PUR Adhesive TE031 is a one-part, warm-applied polyurethane reactive adhesive for fast plastic assembly. The 100% solids material is applied at 121 deg C, provides a typical two-minute open time, and reaches handling strength in about 30 seconds under the stated test definition. Moisture cure builds a flexible bond, with strong peel results on polystyrene, acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, and fiber-reinforced plastic. Moisture must reach the bondline: do not use TE031 for metal-to-metal, glass-to-glass, or metal-to-glass joints, and avoid untreated polyolefins. The extrudable format is suitable for cartridge or bulk PUR dispensing equipment.
Key features
- Fast handling strength: Reaches the stated 34 kPa handling-strength threshold in about 30 seconds at room temperature.
- Two-minute assembly window: Provides a defined open time for joining and fixing parts after warm application.
- Flexible plastic bonding: A typical 725% cured elongation allows the adhesive layer to deform before breaking.
Applications
Applications include bonding polystyrene, acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, wood, and fiber-reinforced plastic where moisture reaches the bondline; exclude untreated polyolefins and metal-to-metal, glass-to-glass, or metal-to-glass joints.
