Product Description

MOLYKOTE® D-7409 Anti-Friction Coating is a high-performance, heat-curing dry-film lubricant formulated with solid lubricants, including molybdenum disulfide and graphite, within an organic binder and solvent system. Designed to replace traditional oils and greases in highly stressed applications, this grayish-black coating provides outstanding permanent lubrication for metal-to-metal combinations operating under moderate to high loads and low sliding speeds.

Key features

  • High load and wear resistance: Withstands extreme contact pressures, exhibiting a Falex load-carrying capacity of up to 11,100 N and excellent endurance on phosphated surfaces.
  • Extreme temperature and chemical stability: Operates reliably across a broad service temperature range of -70°C to 300°C (-94°F to 572°F) while remaining highly resistant to oils, greases, and solvents.
  • Corrosion prevention: Actively avoids fretting corrosion and provides up to 250 hours of protection without red rust in salt spray testing. Formulated without intentional PTFE or PFAS.

  • Permanent lubrication of highly stressed sliding areas where oils and greases cannot be used
  • Piston rings and tappets of combustion engines
