  • 40 to 204 deg C Service Range
  • Release, Lubrication, Sealing, and Protection
  • 0.8% Evaporation at 200 deg C

Product Description

MOLYKOTE® 7 Release Compound is a white, translucent dimethyl silicone compound used for release, lubrication, sealing, and surface-protection applications involving plastics, rubber, metals, and adhesives. Its polydimethylsiloxane fluid and inert amorphous silica formulation maintains a serviceable consistency from -40 to 204°C (-40 to 400°F), while providing moisture resistance, electrical insulation, and low volatility. The non-curing compound can be applied by hand, brushing, wiping, or suitable automated equipment and is used in molding, rubber processing, cable installation, extrusion, and packaging equipment.

Key features

  • Broad service temperature range: Maintains a serviceable consistency from -40 to 204°C (-40 to 400°F).
  • Release and lubrication performance: Provides release, sealing, and rubber-lubrication properties for plastics, rubber, metals, and adhesive-contacting equipment.
  • Stable non-curing silicone compound: Resists moisture and oxidation, is practically nonvolatile, and shows little tendency to dry out during service.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Mold release for foundry shell and core molds
  • Break-in treatment for tire-press bladders
  • Rubber lubrication and preservation
  • Release applications involving adhesives and glues
  • Cable pulling of rubber-covered cable through conduit
  • Plastic extrusion and plastic-film packaging equipment
