LOCTITE SF768
Harmonization Code : 3208.20.90 | Paints and varnishes that are dispersed or dissolved in a non aqueous medium
Main features
- Cyanoacrylate Residue Removal
- Very-Low-Viscosity Solvent Cleaner
- Surface Cleaning and Debonding
Product Description
LOCTITE® SF 768™ is a solvent-based cleaner formulated specifically for the removal of cured cyanoacrylate adhesives and for debonding components assembled with instant adhesives. The low-viscosity blend of nitromethane and hydrocarbon solvents penetrates cured adhesive deposits, allowing adhesive residues to be softened and removed from surfaces. It is suitable for maintenance, rework, and cleaning applications involving cured cyanoacrylate contamination. Based on the uploaded datasheet image.
Key Features & Benefits
- Specialized solvent cleaner for cured cyanoacrylate removal.
- Designed to debond cyanoacrylate-assembled parts.
- Very low viscosity for rapid penetration.
- Suitable for surface cleaning and adhesive residue removal.
- Can soften cured adhesive in minutes to hours depending on thickness.
- Effective on thin films, thick beads and assembled components.
Recommended Applications
- Removal of cured cyanoacrylate adhesive residues.
- Debonding assemblies bonded with instant adhesives.
- Cleaning contaminated surfaces.
- Maintenance and repair operations.

Technical Specifications
General Properties
Appearance
Clear to yellow Appearance at room temperature.
Specific Gravity
1.1 Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume.
For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
Physical Properties
Viscosity
1.5 mPa.s Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow.
Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as
the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP.
A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs-
compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than
water would.
The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in
order to better suit an application
