Main features

  • Extended work life
  • High structural bond strength
  • Thermal and chemical resistance

Product Description

LOCTITE® EA E-40HT™ is a two-component, high-viscosity epoxy adhesive designed for structural bonding applications. The adhesive cures at room temperature after mixing and forms a tough, off-white bondline with strong resistance to shear and impact forces. LOCTITE® EA E-40HT™ offers elevated temperature resistance, excellent mechanical and electrical properties, and resistance to a wide range of solvents and chemicals. It develops strong bonds on aluminum, steel, stainless steel, glass, ceramics, and many plastics, making it suitable for demanding industrial assembly and maintenance applications where durable adhesive performance is required.

Key features

  • Extended work life: Approximately 40 minutes application window after mixing supports complex assembly operations.
  • High structural bond strength: Achieves lap shear strengths up to 28 N/mm² on grit-blasted steel and 26 N/mm² on abraded aluminum.
  • Thermal and chemical resistance: Maintains performance at elevated temperatures and withstands exposure to various solvents and chemicals.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Structural bonding of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel components
  • Bonding glass and ceramic substrates
  • Industrial assembly requiring impact and shear resistance
  • Applications requiring elevated temperature performance
  • Bonding selected plastic materials for industrial use
