Product Description
LOCTITE® EA 9395 AERO Epoxy Paste Adhesive is a two-component, ambient-temperature-curing epoxy adhesive with a thixotropic paste consistency and non-metallic filler. The mixed material is suitable for potting, filling and fairing applications and may be used with composite substrates, including applications where radar-absorbing material or structure considerations are important. After a five-day cure at 77°F/25°C, the adhesive provides a typical tensile lap shear strength of 4,300 psi (29.7 MPa) at 77°F/25°C and retains 1,200 psi (8.3 MPa) at 350°F/177°C on phosphoric-acid-anodized 2024-T3 AlClad aluminum under ASTM D1002 testing. The system uses a 100:17 mix ratio by weight and has a pot life of 95–100 minutes for a 450 g mass at 77°F/25°C.
Key features
- High-temperature strength retention: Retains a typical tensile lap shear strength of 1,200 psi (8.3 MPa) at 350°F/177°C under the documented ASTM D1002 test configuration.
- Thixotropic, non-metallic formulation: Supports paste application for potting, filling and fairing without the use of metallic filler.
- Ambient-temperature cure: Develops normal performance after five days at 77°F/25°C, with an alternative cure of one hour at 150°F/66°C.
Applications / Suitable for
- Potting applications
- Filling and fairing
- Composite-substrate assemblies
- Applications involving RAM/RAS considerations
