Main features
- High Peel Strength on Prepared Aluminum
- Glass, Metal, and Wood Bonding
- 1-Hour 180 deg F Cure
Product Description
LOCTITE® EA 9309NA AERO is a two-component, toughened epoxy paste adhesive for structural bonding and repair applications. It bonds prepared metal, wood, plastic, and glass surfaces and forms flexible bonds that resist water, salt spray, and most common fluids. The adhesive is particularly notable for its peel strength on aluminum and may be cured at room temperature or with an accelerated thermal schedule. A 100:23 mix ratio by weight and a 40-minute pot life for a 450 g mass at 77°F/25°C provide a defined working window for manual application and assembly.
Key features
- High peel strength: Delivers a typical floating-roller peel strength of 89 lbf/in (396 N/25 mm) on PAA-treated 2024-T3 Alclad aluminum under the documented test conditions.
- Flexible, toughened bond: Provides 10% elongation at break after a 72-hour cure at 77°F/25°C, supporting applications requiring a less brittle structural adhesive.
- Room-temperature or accelerated cure: Reaches normal performance after 3–5 days at 77°F/25°C, with 1 hour at 180°F/82°C documented as a complete accelerated cure.
Applications / Suitable for
- Aerospace structural bonding and repair
- Bonding prepared aluminum and other metal surfaces
- Bonding wood and glass
- Bonding suitable plastic surfaces
