Loctite 580 Pipe Sealant

Main features

  • One-Component Sealing System
  • Low Pressure Sealing for Inactive Metals
  • Room-Temperature Sealing Cure

Product Description

LOCTITE® 580 is a one-component, very-high-viscosity anaerobic thread sealant designed for locking and sealing close-fitting metal pipes and fittings. The off-white methacrylate paste provides lubricity during assembly, supports immediate low-pressure sealing in properly tightened fittings, and cures without heat when confined between metal threaded surfaces.

Key features

  • One-component anaerobic system: Requires no mixing and cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces.
  • Immediate low-pressure sealing: Properly tightened fittings seal instantly to moderate pressures before full cure.
  • Formulated for inactive metals: Cures without heat or activator on stainless steel and other inactive metal surfaces.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Locking and sealing threaded metal pipes and fittings
  • Instrumentation, pumps, valves, hydraulics and compressors
  • Water, coolant, fuel-oil and low-pressure steam piping
  • Threaded fittings in fossil-fuel, solar and hydro power-plant piping systems
