Product Description
LOCTITE 542 is a brown, low-viscosity one-component anaerobic thread sealant for locking and sealing metal pipes and fittings. The thixotropic liquid remains controlled during application and cures between close-fitting metal threads in the absence of air. Medium-strength retention supports secure assemblies while allowing service with appropriate tools. Properly tightened fittings can seal immediately to moderate pressure, while at least 24 hours is recommended before maximum pressure or solvent resistance is required. The product is suited to fine-threaded metal fittings where a liquid sealant and controlled flow are needed.
