Main features
- Rapid UV Silicone Cure
- Low-Viscosity Potting and Coating
- Transparent Elastomeric Final State
Product Description
LOCTITE SI 5056 is a light-yellow, transparent, one-component alkoxy silicone adhesive for UV and visible-light curing in bonding, potting, coating, and sealing applications. The low-viscosity liquid cures to a tough, transparent silicone rubber for assemblies requiring a flexible, electrically insulating final material. Under the specified 365 nm exposure, the surface can become tack free within 30 seconds and cure to a depth of at least 4 mm in 60 seconds. Disposable medical-device assembly is included within the product-specific ISO 10993-based evaluation scope.
Key features
- Rapid light-cure processing: The surface becomes tack free within 30 seconds under the documented 365 nm exposure.
- Low-viscosity multi-function application: The liquid supports bonding, potting, coating, and sealing before light cure.
- Transparent elastomeric final state: The cured silicone combines transparency, Shore A hardness of 35 to 50, and elongation above 170%.
Applications / Suitable for
- Bonding, potting, coating, and sealing
- Disposable medical-device assembly within documented evaluation scope
- Light-accessible assemblies requiring transparent cured silicone
