LOCTITE 454

Main features

  • Thixotropic Application Control
  • High-Strength Structural Bonding
  • Moisture-Cure Bonding Processing

Product Description

LOCTITE® 454™ is a one-component, high-viscosity thixotropic ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive designed for bonding difficult-to-bond materials requiring uniform stress distribution and strong tensile and shear strength. Its gel consistency prevents running and dripping, making it ideal for vertical and overhead applications. The adhesive rapidly bonds metals, plastics and elastomers, while also performing well on porous substrates such as wood, paper, leather and fabric. LOCTITE 454 cures in the presence of atmospheric moisture and develops high strength with excellent environmental resistance.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Thixotropic gel formulation prevents adhesive flow and dripping.
  • High-strength bonding for metals, plastics and elastomers.
  • Suitable for porous materials including wood, paper, leather and fabric.
  • One-part adhesive requiring no mixing.
  • Rapid moisture-cure cyanoacrylate technology.
  • Good tensile, shear and environmental resistance properties.
  • Effective on vertical and overhead bonding applications.

Recommended Applications

  • Bonding difficult-to-bond substrates requiring stress distribution.
  • Vertical and overhead assembly applications.
  • Metal, plastic and elastomer assembly.
  • Wood, paper, leather and fabric bonding.
  • General industrial maintenance and repair operations.
