Main features

  • Rubber-Toughened Shock Resistance
  • Black Bondline Identification
  • Fast Multi-Substrate Fixturing

Product Description

LOCTITE 380 is a one-part, medium-viscosity ethyl cyanoacrylate instant adhesive for bonding metals, plastics, and rubbers. The black liquid cures with atmospheric moisture and is rubber toughened to increase flexibility, peel strength, and shock resistance. Fixture times vary by substrate, ranging from 10 to 30 seconds on aluminum and 60 to 120 seconds on degreased steel at 22 deg C and 50% relative humidity. After 24 hours at 22 deg C, grit-blasted steel lap shear strength is 26 N/mm^2. The adhesive performs best in thin bond gaps and is suited to assemblies requiring a black, impact-resistant instant bond.

Key features

  • Rubber-Toughened Bond: The cured adhesive provides increased flexibility, peel strength, and shock resistance.
  • Black Bondline: The black liquid provides a visible bondline for dark or opaque assemblies.
  • Substrate-Specific Fixture: Fixture times range from seconds to minutes depending on the bonded material.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Instant bonding of metals
  • Bonding plastics and rubbers
  • Black, shock-resistant close-fitting joints
