Main features

  • Clean Stick Application
  • Medium-Strength Metal Threadlocking
  • Active and Passive Metal Cure

Product Description

LOCTITE 248 is a blue, wax-consistency anaerobic threadlocker supplied in a self-feeding stick for medium-strength locking of metal fasteners. The semi-solid format allows direct application to threads and is useful where a liquid product may be too fluid or difficult to place. It cures when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces without air and works on active metals as well as passive surfaces such as stainless steel and plated fasteners. UV fluorescence supports application inspection. Torque values apply to degreased steel, black-oxide steel, and stainless-steel fastener configurations under defined cure conditions.

Key features

  • Clean stick application: The self-feeding semi-solid format supports direct, controlled placement on threads.
  • Active and passive metals: The anaerobic formulation cures on common active metals and passive metal surfaces.
  • Medium-strength retention: Cured assemblies provide threadlocking while remaining serviceable with appropriate tools.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Medium-strength locking of metal fasteners
  • Stainless steel and plated threaded assemblies
  • Applications where stick placement is preferred over liquid
