Main features

  • Wicking Preassembled Threadlocking
  • Low-Strength Hand-Tool Removal
  • UV-Visible Application Inspection

Product Description

LOCTITE 220 is a blue, low-viscosity anaerobic threadlocker for locking and sealing small preassembled metal fasteners. Its wicking liquid reaches engaged threads without disassembly, then cures between close-fitting metal surfaces in the absence of air. The low-strength formulation supports later removal with standard hand tools, while UV fluorescence assists application inspection. LOCTITE 220 is especially useful for set screws, long-engagement fasteners, and threaded assemblies under approximately 6 mm where controlled retention is needed without permanent locking. The product is supplied as a one-component liquid, so no mixing is required before application.

Key features

  • Wicking application: Low viscosity allows the liquid to penetrate engaged threads on preassembled fasteners.
  • Serviceable low strength: Cured fasteners can be removed with standard hand tools.
  • UV-visible inspection: Blue material fluoresces under UV light to support application checks.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Preassembled threaded fasteners under approximately 6 mm
  • Set screws and adjustment screws
  • Long-engagement fasteners requiring hand-tool disassembly
