Product Description
Laird Eccoshield® VY-81 is a single-component, electrically conductive, non-hardening caulking compound and sealer filled with metallic particles. It is designed for EMI/RF protection on structures, cabinets, conduits, modules and components where joints, seams, threads and cracks can create leakage paths. Published typical data include 80–90 dB shielding effectiveness, 0.01 Ohm-cm volume resistivity, 1.80 g/cc density and a service-temperature range of −54 to 205°C (−65 to 400°F). The high-tack, non-hardening formulation is intended to continue functioning under vibration and displacement caused by temperature changes. It can be applied using conventional caulking equipment, syringes, spatulas or caulking guns. Application performance should be confirmed in the intended enclosure and joint design.
