EPOCAST 1652

Main features

  • Low Density Syntactic
  • Paste Consistency for Application
  • High Compressive Strength

Product Description

EPOCAST 1652-A/B is a two-component, low-density epoxy syntactic with a thick paste consistency for core filling, core splicing and localized structural reinforcement. The mixed system has a typical density of 0.8 g/cm³ and uses a 100:12 resin-to-hardener mix ratio by weight. It cures at room temperature or with an elevated-temperature post-cure and develops typical compressive strength of 55 MPa at 25°C. Documented applications include adding stiffness and strength to fabricated structures, including helicopter rotor blades, and reinforcing radii and corners in reinforced-plastic structures.

Key features

  • Low-density syntactic system: The mixed material has a typical density of 0.8 g/cm³.
  • Thick paste consistency: The semi-paste mixed form is suited to core filling, core splicing and localized structural build-up.
  • Temperature-dependent compressive performance: Typical compressive strength at 2% strain ranges from 65.5 MPa at −55°C to 4.5 MPa at 177°C.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Core filling for metal-skinned structures
  • Core splicing
  • Adding stiffness and strength to fabricated parts, including helicopter rotor blades
  • Strengthening radii and corners in reinforced-plastic structures
