Product Description

EPIBOND® 1534-A/B Epoxy Adhesive is a two-part epoxy adhesive system developed for bonding fiberglass reinforced plastics, metals, and a variety of other substrates. Qualified to Boeing BMS 5-126 Type 2, Class 1, this adhesive combines a long working life with high bond strength, making it suitable for assembly processes that require extended positioning and handling time. The mixed adhesive provides a 2-hour work life at 25°C and develops strong aluminum-to-aluminum lap shear strength after cure. EPIBOND 1534-A/B also retains useful mechanical properties after exposure to water, fuel, and hydraulic-fluid environments, supporting evaluation for aerospace and industrial bonding applications.

Key features

  • BMS 5-126 qualified: Qualified to Boeing BMS 5-126 Type 2, Class 1 requirements for aerospace adhesive applications.
  • Extended work life: Provides approximately 2 hours of work life at 25°C for mixing, positioning, and assembly operations.
  • High structural bond strength: Achieves typical aluminum-to-aluminum lap shear strength of 3,000 psi (20.7 MPa) at 25°C after cure.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Bonding fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP).
  • Bonding metal assemblies.
  • Aerospace bonding applications requiring BMS 5-126 qualification.
  • Industrial assemblies requiring extended working time before cure.
