DOWSIL OS-125

Main features

  • Silicone-Contamination Cleaning Solvent Blend
  • Immersion, Spray, Rinse, or Wipe Cleaning
  • ppm-Level Residual Silicone

Product Description

DOWSIL™ OS-125 is a clear, colorless cleaning solvent composed of hexamethyldisiloxane and acetone. The product is used to remove soils and nonvolatile silicone contamination from surfaces before subsequent painting or bonding. It can be applied by immersion, spray, or wiping with impregnated tissues, depending on the part and contamination level. Its low kinematic viscosity and surface tension support wetting and cleaning across component surfaces, while evaporation leaves only ppm levels of residual silicone. Compatibility should be verified before use, particularly on sensitive plastics that may be affected by acetone.

Key features

  • Silicone-removing solvent blend: Combines hexamethyldisiloxane and acetone for cleaning soils and nonvolatile silicone materials.
  • Low-residue evaporation: Evaporates after cleaning and leaves only ppm levels of residual silicone, allowing cleaned surfaces to be subsequently coated or bonded.
  • Flexible cleaning methods: Suitable for immersion, spray application, rinsing, and use in impregnated cleaning wipes.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Degreasing
  • Rinsing parts
  • Impregnating wipes for cleaning applications
  • Cleaning contaminated surfaces before painting or bonding
