DOWSIL DS-2025
Harmonization Code : 3208.20.90 | Paints and varnishes that are dispersed or dissolved in a non aqueous medium

Main features
- Cured Silicone Residue Removal
- Up to 400 g/L Silicone Solubilization
- Below 10 cP Low Viscosity
Product Description
DOWSIL™ DS-2025 Silicone Cleaning Solvent is a low-viscosity, hydrocarbon-based cleaning solvent containing a catalytic depolymerization agent. It removes cured and uncured silicone residues from contaminated surfaces, tools, process equipment, tanks, and manufacturing units by digesting and dissolving silicone deposits. The liquid works without water and is intended for direct, continuous contact through equipment immersion, tank filling, or recirculation. It has a closed-cup flash point above 90°C and can solubilize up to 400 g of silicone per liter, allowing multiple cleaning uses before saturation. A follow-up degreasing step with DOWSIL™ DS-1000 Aqueous Silicone Cleaner is recommended after the used solvent is drained and collected.
Key features
- Catalytic silicone removal: Depolymerizes and dissolves substantive cured silicone deposits to leave a silicone-free surface.
- Low-viscosity liquid: Viscosity below 10 cPs at 20°C supports direct contact through immersion, tank filling, or recirculation.
- Multiple-use cleaning capacity: Can solubilize up to 400 g of silicone per liter before becoming saturated.
Applications / Suitable for
- Removing cured or uncured silicone residues from surfaces and tools
- Cleaning process equipment and meter/mix equipment components
- Cleaning tanks and manufacturing units contaminated with cured silicone deposits
