Product Description
DOWSIL™ 9-1374 Silicone Sealant is a one-part, 100% silicone adhesive-sealant supplied as a clear, non-slump paste. Its alkoxy neutral-cure system reacts with atmospheric moisture at room temperature to form a tough, flexible silicone rubber with low odor. The product provides good unprimed adhesion to many commonly used substrates, including wood, steel, aluminum, paints, and certain plastics. It is suited to flexible bonding between materials with different thermal expansion rates, including glass-to-metal, glass-to-plastic, and metal-to-plastic assemblies. The sealant is also used for formed-in-place gaskets and environmental sealing or protection of parts and substrates. Once cured, it remains stable and flexible from -55°C to 180°C (-67°F to 356°F).
Key features
- Neutral moisture cure: The one-part alkoxy silicone cures at room temperature with low odor and requires no component mixing.
- Flexible multi-substrate bonding: Good unprimed adhesion to many common materials supports assemblies combining substrates with different thermal expansion rates.
- Broad temperature range: The cured silicone remains stable and flexible from -55°C to 180°C (-67°F to 356°F).
Applications / Suitable for
- Flexible bonding of glass, metals, plastics, wood, and painted surfaces where supported by substrate testing
- Formed-in-place gaskets
- Environmental sealing and protection of parts and substrates
