Main features
- One-Part Neutral-Cure Silicone
- 3 to 6-Minute Skin-Over
- Primerless Multi-Substrate Adhesion
Product Description
DOWSIL™ 737 Neutral Cure Sealant is a one-part, oxime-cure silicone rubber supplied as a non-slumping paste for industrial bonding, sealing, formed-in-place gasketing, assembly, installation, and maintenance operations. It cures at room temperature when exposed to atmospheric moisture and adheres without primer to many common plastics, metals, painted surfaces, glass, and rubbers. The sealant develops a skin in 3–6 minutes and becomes tack-free in approximately 14 minutes at 25°C and 50% relative humidity. After cure, it remains flexible across a stated service-temperature range of -65°C to 177°C and provides weather resistance for assemblies exposed to sunlight, rain, snow, and temperature extremes.
Key features
- One-part neutral cure: Moisture-cure silicone paste requiring no component mixing.
- Non-slumping application: Stays in place after dispensing without sagging or running from the applied surface.
- Rapid surface cure: Typical skin-over time of 3–6 minutes and tack-free time of 14 minutes at 25°C and 50% relative humidity.
- Primerless adhesion to many materials: Adheres to many plastics, metals, painted surfaces, glass, and rubbers, subject to application testing.
- Flexible cured silicone: Typical elongation greater than 300% after seven days of cure at 25°C and 50% relative humidity.
- Broad service-temperature range: Cured material remains flexible from -65°C to 177°C.
Applications / Suitable for
- Industrial OEM bonding, sealing, assembly, and installation operations
- Formed-in-place gasketing and maintenance sealing
- Appliance assembly and refrigerator or freezer liner sealing
- Plastic molding, trim, and decal attachment

As-supplied properties
Typical values are not intended for use in preparing specifications. Preserve the stated method and test conditions when comparing products or evaluating dispensing behavior.
| Property | Typical value | Unit | Method / condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Color | Translucent, white or black | — | As supplied |
| Flow, sag or slump | Nil | in | CTM 0062 |
| Specific gravity | 1.04 | — | CTM 0097 |
| Extrusion rate | 395 | g/min | CTM 0364; 1/8 in orifice at 90 psi |
| Skin-over time | 3–6 | min | CTM 0098; exposed to air at 25°C and 50% RH |
| Tack-free time | 14 | min | 25°C and 50% RH |
Application and cure
Apply the sealant to clean, dry surfaces in a continuous operation. Tool immediately after dispensing and before the surface skin forms. Atmospheric moisture is required for cure, so the material should not be used in totally confined spaces without moisture exposure.
Recommended application sequence
Store at or below 32°C in the original unopened container. Uncured material may be removed from tools and nonporous surfaces with an appropriate solvent. On porous surfaces, allow excess material to cure and remove it mechanically. Review the current safety data and container label before handling.
Cured properties
Physical-property values are typical after seven days of cure at 25°C and 50% relative humidity unless otherwise stated. They are not guaranteed specifications.
