Processing

Mix, degas, dispense, and cure

Maintain the specified component ratio and processing conditions.

Mix ratio: 100:97 by weight or 1:1 by volume, Part A:DP32127 Part B.
Work life: 10-15 minutes at 25 C.
Cure options: 7-10 days at 25 C or 16 hours at 80 C.

Processing sequence for CONATHANE EN-5317.

Processing stages

Stage 1
Condition components
Mix each component before use. If Part A crystallizes, heat it to 60 C, mix thoroughly, and cool to room temperature.
Stage 2
Mix
Combine Part A and DP32127 Part B at 100:97 by weight or 1:1 by volume until homogeneous.
Stage 3
Degas and dispense
Degas at room temperature under more than 27 inHg vacuum, allowing container space for frothing, then dispense by hand, cartridge, meter-mix, or vacuum-potting methods.
Stage 4
Cure
Use either 7-10 days at 25 C or 16 hours at 80 C. Thin films reach tack-free condition in about 10 minutes at 80 C.
Protect components from moisture

Store sealed containers at 20-30 C in a dry environment away from direct sunlight. Shelf life is 12 months from shipment in the original sealed containers, while cartridge packaging may have a different shelf life. After opening, use immediately or blanket the container with dry air or nitrogen before resealing.

Final-state properties

Typical cured-system performance

Specimens for the physical-property data were cured for 16 hours at 80 C.
