BONDERITE C-AK ETCH

Main features

  • High-Copper Aluminum Chem-Mill Processing
  • Controlled Immersion Chemical Milling
  • Improved Line Definition and Etch Uniformity

Product Description

BONDERITE® C-AK ETCH 9HL AERO is a specially compounded alkaline liquid chemical milling etchant developed for high-copper aluminum alloys used in the Chem-Mill process. Applied by immersion, it delivers controlled chemical etching for aerospace manufacturing and has also been used successfully on other aluminum alloys. The formulation is designed for use with BONDERITE® C-AD ETCH additives and ALKETCH INHIBITOR L to achieve consistent line definition and etch-factor uniformity during chemical milling operations.

Key features

  • Chemical milling etchant: Developed specifically for Chem-Mill processing of high-copper aluminum alloys.
  • Immersion process compatible: Designed for immersion etching systems using mild-steel process equipment.
  • Process control support: Used with ALKETCH INHIBITOR L to optimize line definition and etch-factor uniformity.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Chemical milling (Chem-Mill) of aluminum components
  • High-copper aluminum alloys
  • Other aluminum alloys where validated by process qualification
  • Immersion chemical milling systems
  • Aerospace metal pretreatment operations
