- Up to 350 deg F Intermittent Exposure
- Aluminum-Filled Tooling Formulation
Product Description
AXSON EC-433-2 is the fast-hardener configuration of the EC-433 aluminum-filled epoxy casting system developed for heat-resistant cast tooling. The room-temperature-hardening system provides a 120-minute work life at 77°F (25°C), accepts additional bulk aluminum filler, and requires a controlled heat cure for service above 150°F (66°C). Properly cured tools can operate continuously at temperatures up to 300°F (160°C) and intermittently up to 350°F (177°C).
Key features
- High-temperature tooling performance: Supports continuous tool temperatures up to 300°F (160°C) and intermittent temperatures up to 350°F (177°C) after the required cure.
- Fast hardener configuration: Provides a 120-minute work life at 77°F (25°C) for comparatively faster processing within the EC-433 system.
- Dimensional stability: The aluminum-filled epoxy formulation exhibits low linear shrinkage and can accept additional N-20 aluminum grain.
- Room-temperature B-stage cure: Develops initial hardness at room temperature before the required controlled heat-cure schedule.
Applications / Suitable for
- Vacuum-form molds
- Compression molds
- Prototype injection molds
- RIM molds
- Foam molds and other high-temperature cast-tooling applications
