Main features
- 1 MPa Lap Shear
- Thixotropic Gap-Filling Control
- Multi-Substrate Bonding Capability
Product Description
ARALDITE 2022-1 is a two-component, room-temperature-curing, toughened methacrylate structural adhesive for fast assembly on a wide range of substrates, including materials that can be difficult to bond. Supplied at a 1:1 mix ratio by weight and volume, it forms a pale-yellow, thixotropic adhesive with a typical pot life of approximately 10 minutes at 25°C. The system combines rapid lap-shear strength development with gap-filling capability up to 4 mm and can be used effectively with limited surface preparation, although clean, mechanically abraded or chemically etched surfaces provide the strongest and most durable joints.
Key features
- Fast strength development: Typical lap shear strength exceeds 1 MPa after 12 minutes and 10 MPa after 17 minutes at 23°C.
- Controlled 1:1 processing: The mixed adhesive is thixotropic, has a typical 10-minute pot life at 25°C, and is available for cartridge mixing and dispensing.
- Gap-filling multi-substrate bonding: Supports gaps up to 4 mm and is intended for a wide range of metal, plastic, and composite substrates.
Applications / Suitable for
- Fast room-temperature assembly operations
- Bonding evaluated metals, plastics, and fiber-reinforced composites
- Joints requiring gap filling or tolerance of less-than-ideal pretreatment

Store ARALDITE 2022-1 for up to 18 months at 2-8°C in the original sealed containers. The product may be brought to room temperature before use, but total room-temperature exposure should not exceed six months, and long-term exposure above 25°C reduces shelf life. Clean tools with hot water and soap before adhesive residue cures. Consult the current Safety Data Sheet before handling.
