  • 50-80 mPa.s Component Viscosity
  • APG or Vacuum-Casting Processing
  • High-Voltage Insulation System Use

Product Description

ARADUR HY 918 Hardener is represented in the supplied technical document as ARADUR HY 918 CI, a liquid anhydride hardener for a low-viscosity, hot-curing electrical casting system based on ARALDITE CY 228 CI. As supplied, the CI component has guideline viscosity of 50-80 mPa.s and density of 1.18-1.24 g/cm3 at 25 deg C, with an approximate 165 deg C flash point. The documented formulation uses 85 parts hardener per 100 parts resin by weight, with optional flexibilizer, accelerator, and silica filler. It supports automatic pressure gelation or conventional vacuum casting for medium- and high-voltage indoor electrical insulators. Cured performance remains specific to the complete formulation and stated cure conditions.

Key features

  • Low component viscosity: Guideline viscosity is 50-80 mPa.s at 25 deg C.
  • Two documented casting routes: The CY 228 CI system supports automatic pressure gelation or conventional vacuum casting.
  • High-voltage system use: The documented formulation is intended for medium- and high-voltage indoor electrical insulators.

Applications

As the HY 918 CI hardener component in CY 228 CI formulations for switch and apparatus components, pin insulators, bushings, and power-distribution, current, or voltage transformers.
