ALPHA 857
Harmonization Code : 3404.90.00.00 | Artificial waxes and prepared waxes : Other

Main features
- Foam and Spray Process Flexibility
- Controlled Specific-Gravity Flux Consistency
- Water-Washable Residues Without Rinse Aids
Product Description
ALPHA 857 Liquid Soldering Flux is a water-soluble liquid flux for wave soldering processes with post-solder water cleaning. The highly active, low-smoking formulation can be applied as a fast-breaking fine-bubble foam or by spray. During operation, specific gravity at 25 deg C is maintained at 0.860 to 0.875 with ALPHA 425 thinner to control flux consistency. The flux contains 18% nonvolatiles and is classified ORH1 under IPC J-STD-004. Post-solder residues wash off with water to low ionic contamination levels without rinse aids, making the product suited to controlled water-cleaning assembly processes.
Key features
- Foam or spray application: Supports fast-breaking foam fluxing and spray application for flexible wave-solder process setup.
- Controlled flux consistency: A 0.860 to 0.875 specific-gravity range at 25 deg C provides a clear operating target when adding ALPHA 425 thinner.
- Water-washable residues: Post-solder residues are designed for water removal to low ionic contamination levels without rinse aids.
Applications
Used in electronic wave soldering lines that require controlled foam or spray fluxing followed by water cleaning after soldering.
