Main features

  • UV-Resistant Outdoor Surface Protection
  • 8-Mil Conformable Erosion Barrier
  • High-Peel Acrylic Surface Adhesion

Product Description

3M Polyurethane Protective Tape 8672 is an 8 mil outdoor-grade polyurethane tape with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive and a polyester liner for leading-edge erosion and abrasion protection. The 6 mil polyurethane film is formulated for ultraviolet resistance and resists puncture, tearing, abrasion, and erosion, while the thin construction conforms over curved surfaces. The tape can be painted or applied over painted surfaces, and its acrylic adhesive provides high peel strength on tested aluminum, acrylic enamel, and ABS surfaces. It is designed for aircraft production and maintenance and other aerospace or industrial surfaces exposed to outdoor wear, including rain and sand erosion.

Key features

  • UV-resistant outdoor polyurethane: The protective film is formulated for ultraviolet exposure and resists puncture, tearing, abrasion, and erosion in outdoor service.
  • Thin conformable construction: The 8 mil total tape thickness follows curved surfaces while providing a durable leading-edge protective layer.
  • High-peel acrylic adhesion: The acrylic adhesive provides measured peel adhesion on bare aluminum, acrylic enamel, and ABS while retaining a pressure-sensitive format.

Applications

Use 3M Polyurethane Protective Tape 8672 for leading-edge, erosion, scratch, and abrasion protection on aerospace and industrial surfaces, including painted or curved areas.
