Product Description
3M™ Polyester Tape 853 is a transparent polyester film tape with a high-shear, solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive. Its thin, high-strength construction provides reliable bonding without obscuring protected information, making it suitable for high-tension splicing, critical label protection, tape hinges, and moisture-sealing applications. The tape withstands long-term temperatures from -50 to 150°C (-60 to 300°F) and resists solvents including jet engine fuel, hydraulic fluid, and lubricating oils.

- Thin, strong construction: Combines a 0.03 mm (1.1 mil) polyester backing with a total tape thickness of 0.06 mm (2.2 mil).
- Solvent-resistant adhesion: Acrylic adhesive resists many solvents, including jet engine fuel, hydraulic fluid, and lubricating oils.
- Transparent protection: Allows information beneath the tape to remain visible during label-protection and sealing applications.
- Broad temperature resistance: Supports long-term use from -50 to 150°C (-60 to 300°F).
- Aerospace flammability performance: Meets FAR 25.853(a), Appendix F, Part I (a)(1)(ii), and can be qualified to Federal Specification L-T-100 Type I.
