- High-Temperature Silicone Adhesive
- -73 to 260 deg C Use Range
Product Description
3M™ Polyimide Film Tape 5413 is an amber, 0.07 mm (2.7 mil) tape constructed with DuPont™ Kapton® polyimide film and silicone adhesive. It is used for printed circuit board solder masking and other high-temperature applications. The dimensionally stable polyimide backing does not soften at elevated temperatures and provides a release surface for high-temperature processing. The silicone adhesive supports high-temperature performance with reduced adhesive transfer, while the tape also provides documented flame-retardant, chemical-resistant, radiation-resistant, dielectric, and mechanical properties.
Key features
- High-temperature polyimide backing: DuPont™ Kapton® film remains dimensionally stable and does not soften at elevated temperatures.
- Silicone adhesive: Supports high-temperature processing while helping reduce adhesive transfer during removal.
- Documented functional performance: Provides flame retardancy, chemical and radiation resistance, and a typical dielectric strength of 7,000 volts.
Applications / Suitable for
- Masking gold fingers on printed circuit boards during wave soldering
- Masking gold fingers during solder-dip processing
- Providing a release surface during fabrication of parts cured at elevated temperatures
